The context of the COVID-19 pandemic drastically limits children’s social opportunities. In addition to having to respect social distancing measures, many were deprived of school for a few weeks. A new qualitative study by Danaë Larivière-Bastien, a doctoral student in neuropsychology and member of ABCs Laboratory looked at the effects of the pandemic on the social development of children.

Preliminary results were presented on the program “Let’s Go” (CBC) by Miriam Beauchamp, director of the ABCs laboratory and supervisor of the project. It seems that young people aged 5 to 14 are among other things affected by the lack of physical proximity resulting from health measures.
