Meet Our Incredible Team
The faces behind our success

Catherine Landry-Roy
I completed a PhD in neuropsychology at the Université de Montréal and conducted my thesis work at the ABCs Lab, where I now work as a research advisor. My practice as a pediatric neuropsychologist has allowed me to develop expertise working with children and adolescents with varied and complex needs. I aim to draw on my clinical and scientific experience to contribute to projects that support child and adolescent development.

Julia Salles
I graduated from the joint doctoral program in communication at UQAM, Université de Montréal and Concordia University. I am a lecturer and research professional at the University of Montreal, with extensive experience in the management of research, research-development and research-creation projects in the field of digital information and communication technologies, in particular artificial intelligence, conversational agents (chatbot) and immersive media (virtual reality and 360 videos).

Jessica Lacombe-Barrios
I am a neuropsycholgist and have been an evaluator for the various laboratory projects since 2017. My doctoral work primarily focused on the implementation of behavioral familiarization for toddlers in order to perform MRIs without sedation.

Stéphanie McLellan-Lamarche
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from McGill University and a master's degree in biomedical sciences at UdeM/UQTR. I enjoy working with children and adolescents and hope to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology. I have been working as a research coordinator in the ABCs lab since 2021.

Layane Duarte e Souza
I have a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the Université de Montréal, as well as two master's degrees in genomics and biosciences. With over 10 years' experience in research, particularly in oncology and biotechnology development, I am passionate about modernizing science and developing human-centered research that is directly connected to society. At the ABCs Lab, I coordinate the RV-Focus project, whose mission is to make virtual reality an accessible and beneficial therapeutic approach for tomorrow's children.

Marie-Claude Frenette
With a bachelor's degree in political science from Concordia University and, more recently, a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Sherbrooke, I spent ten years working in journalism and communications before reorienting my career to further my curiosity about human beings and their development. I am also pursuing a graduate microprogram in mindfulness at UQAM. At the ABCs Lab, in collaboration with the trauma team at CHU Sainte-Justine, I am coordinating a project aimed at improving the quality of clinical follow-up for young children who have suffered a head injury, based on the most recent scientific data.

Jennyfer Exantus
With a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences, a master's degree in environmental sciences and a graduate microprogram in public leadership/applied politics, I have worked for over 10 years in the field of communications as a journalist, producer, writer, and science communicator. My focus: bridging complex ideas and audiences through strategic scientific communication and knowledge mobilization.

Marie-France Perrier, PhD
Speech-language pathologist and postdoctoral fellow at the Université de Montréal and CHU Sainte-Justine, I hold a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Ottawa, where my work focused on cognitive-communication disorders following acquired brain injury in children and adolescents. I also practiced for nearly ten years as a speech-language pathologist in acute care and rehabilitation at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). My current research examines the effects of early childhood concussion on cognitive and communication development.

Mitia Andrieux
With a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science (Neuroscience concentration), I’m passionate about executive functions and how technology can translate research into real-world solutions. Through the VR-Focus project, I merge scientific rigor with social impact by using VR as an intervention tool.

Jeanne Fredette
I am currently pursuing graduate studies in neuroscience at the University of Montreal. I hold an HBSc in Psychology from the University of Toronto and an MSc in Paediatric Neuropsychology from University College London, where I researched the neurocognitive effects of paediatric epilepsy. My research interests focus on child brain development and the impact of epilepsy and other brain trauma on cognition.
